Sex Coaching
who is this for?
Anyone looking to dismantle the shame or fear around their sexuality brought on by purity culture, religious coercion, and rape.
Anyone who struggles with desire or orgasm.
Anyone who needs a safe place to explore their sexual needs and desires openly.
Anyone who struggles to understand and communicate their sexual needs and desires to current or potential partners.
Those who haven’t had luck with traditional therapy when it comes to sex and relationships.
What to expect:
Home Assignments: Our work in session is only a tiny part of the work! Together, we will develop practices that you will do at home in between sessions to further your growth and self-discovery.
Disclosure:
I might share a personal story that relates to what you are going through. Coach disclosure lends a sense of connection and can reduce the shame/guilt that often occurs around sexuality.
Privacy:
Intensely private things will be shared on our call. What is said on our calls stays on our calls unless the other gives expressed consent.
A laid-back anti-oppressive environment:
I am not a licensed counselor or therapist; I do not adhere to structurally oppressive colonialist methods of therapy. My sessions are client-led as we co-create fluid and adaptable paths toward a client’s expressed goals. You can expect me to be dressed in something comfy. I highly encourage you to show up however you are comfortable, whether wrapped in a blanket or enjoying the sunshine on the patio.
Online appointments and house calls: I offer virtual appointments but will make house calls on a case-by-case basis for those in the Kansas City area.
I believe that safety, joy, love, and pleasure are fundamental human rights, just as essential as food and shelter. However, we live in a country that was stolen by puritans and colonized with violent Christian ideals, which continue to perpetuate teachings of religious purity and misogyny to this day.
Figures like Trump, Musk, and Joe Rogan-type influencers only exacerbate these issues, making it difficult for many of us to navigate our day-to-day lives without exclusive messaging, inequitable laws, and outright hate against the LGBTQIA+ community, women, and other marginalized groups.
The effects of normalized sexual abuse can manifest in various ways, such as disrupted relationships, loss of interest in sex, confusion, shame, fear, depression, flashbacks, and feelings of being "dirty." You may also struggle with the belief that something is fundamentally wrong with your sexuality. Or fear sexual experiences because you did not receive proper sex education as a child, leaving you vulnerable to predators.
Having grown up steeped in dogma, purity teachings, and sexual abuse, I want to assure you that you are not alone, and you are not broken. Christian ideaology can strip us of our autonomy and sovereignty, resulting in a blurred sense of self. The path to healing and reclaiming what was lost is in deconstructing the false narratives surrounding love, sex, and relationships.
